چکیده

Soil salinization is more aggravating than ever before and techniques are needed to mitigate this problem; understanding salinity-fertilizer relationship of considerable economic importance for promoting crop growth productivity in saline soil. A pot experiment was done a greenhouse determine whether the N could alleviate negative effect different salts compositions on growth, physiological attributes two most used Sudan sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) cultivars (Wadahmed Tabat). The plant subjected salt stress at 0, 0.3419 M NaCl, 0.1408 Na2SO4, four levels application 4, 8, 12 g kg-1 soil, designated as N0, N1, N2, N3, respectively. Results showed that Na2SO4 reduced height, leaf area index, number leaves, dry weight (DW), chlorophyll a, total content, increased soluble protein activities peroxidase (POD) catalase (CAT) by 16.4%, 29.7%, 61.5%, 28.7%, 39.6%, 12.7%, 99.7%, 34.3%, 51.8%, respectively, when compared with non-saline treatment. had harmful NaCl. This study revealed fertilizer successful alleviating adverse impacts both types salt. In study, soil effective measured parameters cultivars. These findings demonstrated amendment impact salinity. ‘Wadahmed’ tolerant salinity ‘Tabat’ during boot stage plant.

Screening of Salt Tolerance in Different Varieties of Hordeum vulgare

Soil salinity is the major abiotic stress in plant agriculture strongly influencing productivity worldwide and it delimit the crop yield. Several abiotic stresses are united by the fact that at least part of their detrimental effect on plant performance is caused by disruption of plant water status. This can occur through decreased availability of water in the environment during drought, altere...

Growth and yield responses of two forage sorghum cultivars to different nitrogen fertilizer rates

In order to evaluate the impact of different amounts of nitrogen fertilizer on growth and yield of two forage sorghum cultivars, a 2-year field experiment was carried out at the College of Agriculture, Shiraz University, Shiraz, Iran during 2010 and 2011 growing seasons. Two factorial experiments were carried out in randomized block design with three replicates, in which the treatments included...

Response of Two Indica Rice Varieties to Salt Stress

Salinity is one of the most challenging problems that adversely affects growth and development of plants. Therefore, understanding of the mechanisms that enable plants to adapt to salinity stress will ultimately help in the selection of stress tolerant cultivars for exploiting saline soils. The main objective of this study was to examine the effects of NaCl on some physiological and biochemic...
